Diamond In The Rough! John Frieda Root Awakening
So, I decided to make up my own monthy favourites type of thing only I am calling it my monthly Diamond In The Rough! That means that I am going to start posting about products or movies or bands or whatever I want that I think qualify to be deemed a diamond in the rough that I have found and want to spread the word about! Urban Dictionary defines a Diamond in The Rough as "A person or thing that appears dubious at first but turns out to be exceptional." Which all of the featured products will be exceptional in my opinion.
Today I am posting my first ever DITR and it just so happens to be the John Frieda Root Awakening Strength Boosting Leave-In Spray! Granted, that is a mouthful but this product is a god send.
Pros of Root Awakening
- for all hair types
- gives flat hair volume at root and throughout
- equipped with heat protection
- smells like eucalyptus (yum!)
- makes hair feel silky without looking or feeling greasy
- safe for colour treated hair
- works as a leave-in conditioner
- improves hairs strength
- will not weigh hair down
Believe it or not this product has no flaws. I have come to love this spray but have since found out that the packaging has changed and is now called 'Lift + Refresh Root Spray' but I believe it is the same product.
My hair has felt so much smoother and healthier since using this product and when I use it to spray on my roots and blow dry my hair upside down it makes my hair so full and voluminous! Having thin hair, finding a hair concoction that gives me loads of volume is just aces.
I recommend trying this spray if you haven't already!

Top 5 Favourite Perfumes!
Number 5. The Body Shop 'White Musk' for Men
This product is obviously for men but it smells so damn good it has to be in my top five. Don't get me wrong I think it works wonders on women even though it is a little more masculine. It is the perfect sexy, clean, classic scent.
Number 4. True Religion 'Hope Love Denim'
This perfume is very sweet, vanilla, caramel smelling and also has a fresh side to it as well. It is also not sickening like other sweet smelling fragrances can be. It is also long lasting and has such a fun bottle, it fits nicely in the hand and feels expensive.
Number 3. Burberry 'Brit'
Burberry is a luxurious and classy brand and the smell of this fragrance can also be described that way! I love the staying power of this product and the fact that it has such a classic looking bottle. Looks fab on my night stand.
Number 2. Just Cavalli 'Her'
This is another sweet scented perfume that I am most drawn to. Spicy notes of vanilla and coffee emanate from the wearer and there are also notes of cinnamon. The only down fall is the horrible packaging. It is ugly and oddly rectangle shaped one side is plastic and one is glass. I believe the outside appearance of this bottle is why it was on clearance at Shoppers Drugmart when I first tested it out, but was I ever surprised with my find! The sent is so enticing it is well worth the eyesore of a bottle.
Number 1. Britney Spears 'Believe'
Yes you heard right. Believe it or not (I can never resist a good pun) this is the perfume that I get the most compliments from. Hands down. I don't know if it's the combination of it on my skin or what but nine out of the ten times that I wear this baby I get comments like 'Wow, you smell good. What are you wearing?' and 'Don't take this the wrong way but you smell fantastic!' The last one was from a total stranger who also happened to be a man. This perfume is described as smelling fruity and sweet with hints of patchouli and tropical citrus. I always liked most of Britney's other perfumes but this one is just the bees knees. I have two bottles of this bad boy and I consider it my signature scent. Some people think that celebrity perfumes are stupid or too sweet but I have to disagree. The packaging is unique and edgy and looks amazing on the bathroom vanity. That being said the compliments are proof enough that this particular scent is a winner.
