Nail Polish HAUL!

I was feeling a bit non-glamorous after work one Tuesday evening and decided to perk myself up and buy something girly and springy. So I went over to Walmart and bought up some lovely new nail polishes!

I didn't want to spend over 4 dollars on each individual polish because, lets face it, I am a royal cheap skate. So in keeping with my decision I picked out these gems;

They only cost $2.77 each and they are very opaque and don't chip very much. I put a L'oreal base coat under neath and Seche Vite top coat to complete.

Overall I am pleased with this brand of polishes but my favourite are the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polishes. Unfortunately the Salon Manicure ones are $7 and they don't have very many fun or sparkly colours.

I did the following look on my nails with White On and Strobe Light on the ring fingers. You like?...

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter Review

I'm obsessed.

I originally bought Creme Brulee and instantly fell in love. The price was over nine dollars at Walmart and I really had a hard time justifying buying a drug store lip butter for that much. But, after trying it I was impressed. The formula was smooth and not sticky (which is a major plus in my opinion). The lip butters are also pigmented nicely so that you can actually tell that you have something on your lips. They are more of a lip balm/ lip stick hybrid which is quite lovely. They also smell nice but are not over powering in any way.

I since added four more colours to my collection because they were on special at Shoppers Drug Mart for 3.99.

I currently have Peach Parfait, Creme Brulee, Strawberry Shortcake, Cupcake, and Sugar Frosting and I am planning to buy at least Tutti Frutti and Raspberry Pie because they look enticing.

* Side Note: Shoppers is an excellent place to find lowered prices on the more expensive drug store products. I have gotten numerous beauty bargains in my travels to Shoppers. ex. GOSH translucent powder for $5.00 (a top ten product for me), Benefit "That Gal" Brightening Face Primer for $5.00, Britney Spears Believe perfume 100ml for $19.99 (which smells amazing!), and many others.

I am so excited to have these lip butters for spring and summer as I feel that wearing lip stick this time of year is way too intense. Overall, I feel that this product is well worth the money for the quality and freshness they bring to the table.

Review : MAC Fix + Spray

I recently purchased Fix + from the MAC website. I've wanted to try this product out for a while because of all of the good things I have been hearing about it on YouTube and different blogs.

So, I ordered it and in three days it was on my door step! I was so excited that I opened it immediately and wanted to try it out asap. But alas it would not spray! I did everything to get it to work but to no avail. I am not going to lie I was kinda pissed. I had paid a pretty penny for this product just to have it fail to mist gloriously out of the bottle.

So I got on the phone and called the number on the order sheet. I spoke to a very nice girl who was very understanding and polite. Which from my experience is few and far between for customer service over the phone. The lady told me that this has happened a few times before and that she would be sending me an other one for FREE! And, I didn't even have to send back the defective one! So I got two full sized fix + sprays for the price of one! I was so happy after finding this out I ordered one of the Zoom Fast mascaras (which I also am obsessed with).

The description on the MAC website says it is supposed to "add radiance and finish your makeup". But it does that and so much more. I have come to love using this product for many reasons.

1. It hydrates my skin but doesn't leave it feeling or looking greasy. This is great for me as I have combination skin. I find that it almost plumps my skin and my it comes off looking dewy and fresh.

2. It is great for spraying your eyeshadow brush and then dipping it into pigment therefore making the pigment look a lot more vibrant and creamy.

3. If sprayed vigorously over a finished face your makeup lasts a lot longer than if you had not used anything.

Over all I will be repurchasing this product when my two bottles run out.

Thanks For The Update, Big Ben...

Summer is almost over and the smell of fall is in the air. I'm a little sad to see the warm weather go but on the other hand, I am looking forward to seeing the fall fashions and bringing out my jeans, knit sweaters and scarves. With every season comes a new chance to reinvent your look or try out something new, and not just with clothes or makeup.

I am currently reading the book The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson and so far it is pretty interesting. I have been slacking with my summer reading this year and have only read White Oleander by Janet Fitch and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. I usually at LEAST read all four of the Twilight Saga books during the summer plus a few others. But, this year I have been lazy and watched more movies than anything else. Wah-wahhh. Fail. At least I can say I have read almost three now... That's good right?... :(






On Sunday three of my best friends and I traveled down to Toronto to see my favourite band perform at The Molson Amphitheater. It was my third time seeing Incubus live and it was even more amazing than I had remembered. I started to tear up when they opened with Pardon Me. This might come off as melodramatic but it was one of the best experiences of my life thus far. The audience seemed to be mirroring my feelings towards the band because they were the loudest crowd I have ever heard at a concert. Ever. Even Brandon commented on how loud we were singing. The audience cheered with such vigor I thought the whole place was going to rip apart! They put on a great show and it was definitely a highlight of my summer.

All-in-all it has been a pretty low key but awesome summer. I have done many things including but not limited to, beach hopping, tanning, pub crawling, reading, movie watching, laughing, concert going, new trend shopping, wedding attending, fingernail painting, restaurant eating, make-up doing, pizza making, boyfriend cuddling, music listening, and many more.

I can't complain about my summer but the thing I can complain about is the ever looming cloud of cold, icy, annoying, can't-seem-to-scrape-you-off-my-windshield-fast-enough thing that is sure to come our way soon enough. But before that happens there's still a lot of cool (pun intended) things up and coming. Including my 25th birthday, Halloween, The Norwood Fair, Thanksgiving, and hopefully a new job opportunity or two as well.

Things are looking up.
