OSCARS 2011 'Worst Dressed'

First of all I would like to start off by saying that I was extremely disappointed with the dress selection this year. Some of the dresses are so bad that even Charlie Sheen would notice how horrible they are. Yeah it's that bad. I am going to start from the bottom of the barrel and claw my way out.






Scarlett Johansson

This dress was all kinds of wrong. Wrong shade of purple, wrong lace patterning (making her look oddly shaped) and wrong bra. You can see the bra and I don't know if this was intentional but it looks silly. I hate to dog on Dolce and Gabanna but it was just, well... wrong.



Amy Adams

I like the colour and fabric of her dress but the accessories don't match with it at all. I dislike how the necklace rests on her dress, it makes the necklace look like an after thought. Also the green jewels are clashing with the blue and, frankly, green gems were done better last year by Angie Jolie. Plus, her hair should have been in an updo because there's so much going on at the head and neck area already and that would have simplified it.

Hilary Swank

This dress could have been bearable if it was all the same colour. Having said that, the shading of the light gray to dark gray has the effect of looking dirty. It looks as if she has been dragging the dress through mud puddles.

Jennifer Lawrence

To be honest I didn't even know who this person was until I looked her up. I hated this dress from the moment I laid eyes on it. The colour, the plain cut, the lack of jewelry, and the horrible Kate Middleton hair style.

This dress reminds me of the Kelly Kapowski-esk swim suits from Baywatch. You're at the Oscars lady, this is the time to shine and go balls deep with your outfit! It's not to try and look like Yasmine Bleeth circa 1995.

Jennifer Hudson

O.K. I'm just going to go ahead and say what everyone is thinking... Her tits look like flapjacks. I'm sorry, if you know your going to be appearing in front of millions of people on the red carpet and your boobies are fugly, cover 'em up.

Don't even get me started on the orange colour. It reminds me of a Hallowe'en leaf bag. Google image that shit. It's spooky how much they resemble eachother.

Gwyneth Paltrow

The top part of the dress is alright I guess and the liquid metal colour is fine but the lower half of this dress is just awful. It looks like she forgot to get her stylist to steam the bottom of her dress. Also the old lady pin on her hip looks so out of place. Usually Gwen is so fabulous but I think this was a huge fail for her.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese's ensamble looks like it was ripped out of a bad prom magazine from 2001, her hair looks like she copied it from her daughters Malibu Barbie (clip in hair extensions from Claire's anyone?), and her last name is Witherspoon, sick!

Hollywood's Most Beautiful Ladies

Ashley Greene who plays Alice Cullen in the Twilight movies is one of the most beautiful and diverse actresses of the new era. She can pull off all shades of hair colour from black to full on blonde and she has one of those faces that can look completely different just from changing angles.

It was surprisingly difficult to find a good photo of Natalie Portman. She is stunning with a shaved head, and if you can pull that off and still look amazing than you are beautiful in my book.

Shania Twain is just a perfect example of natural beauty. She has the girl-next-door look but can also fall into the high fashion category. Plus, shes Canadian so she represents us well. ;)

Charlize Theron. Classic. Blonde hair, blue eyes combined with a models body. How could anyone not think she is beautiful?

Jessica Simpson has always been, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful women on the planet! Gorgeous features. Hair, lips, eyes, cheek bones, she has it all.




For this post I tried to pick women who were naturally beautiful as apposed to people who have had various facial procedures ie. Nicole Kidman, Megan Fox, Kate Beckinsale, Angelina Jolie, etc. I don't think it's ok to modify your face so much that you are unrecognizable afterward. It's ok to fix your nose if it is bulbous or have your ears pinned back if they stick out in a way that you deem unflattering, but to go and change your face so it looks like you are constantly traveling at the speed of sound, is so not attractive.

I am going to also make a list soon of beautiful women of the past and my male celebrity crushes.

I hope you can appreciate that I am focusing on and appreciating some of the world's most beautiful people. Let me know in a comment who you think are the most beautiful or inspiring people.

This has been one of my hobbies the past week. I have been learning how to edit pictures using free internet programs. It is really fun and gets my artistic side thinking.
